Phrases that I only say
Number 1 : Ow my Dendrites
Do any of you know what Dendrites are? Here let me explain. Dendrites are part of the nervous system. The skin is packed with specialized sensory neurons called “thermoreceptors.” The Dendrites are exposed right underneath your skin which detects physical changes in your environment. In my case I have a very heightened sensitivity to really hot or cold water. Sometimes I wash the dishes after dinner and the sink is full of soap hot water. So when it gets too hot for my hands to handle that is where the phrase, “ow, My Dendrties!” comes from.
Number 2: Beep!
Whenever I am in a bad mood or having an anxiety issue my mom touches the middle of my forehead and says, “Beep!’ This is a way I reset my mood so that I can calm down . It is a coping skill that I use everyday and it helps me a lot. Hopefully it could help you too. If not, that’s ok. That is what works for me.
Number 3: Oopsiecadoodle
This phrase came from a tv show that I watch on Netflix called “Pup Academy!” The episode in particular features different dog breeds that come to learn how to be a better dog to their humans. But, there was an incident that when the human blew the dog whistle to enter the fire hydrant portal, one of the dogs was not supposed to go through. It was a Yorkshire terrier. The terrier said the word ,”Oopsiecadoodle!” meaning that they caused trouble without meaning to do so. But if someone else says it I tend to be embarassed by it.
Number 4 : That is what I was trying to do
It is my way of letting my frustration out. Sometimes certain things that I wanted to do don’t always go as I planned. So that is when I say ” That is what I was trying to do!”
Part 2 Nicknames where they came from
Number 1 : Megan The Yahtzee Queen
Megan The Yahtzee Queen comes from me playing Yahtzee the Dice Game with my dad. Because whenever my dad and I play Yahtzee together, I seem to get a lot of yahtzee’s when we have are so called Yahtzee tournaments.
Number 2 Sunshine
Why people call me sunshine is because most of the time I will smile at some random stranger even when I am having a difficult day. What makes me feel good is by making someone else feel better by one thing and one thing only. By smiling even if it is only for a second. That is what makes a difference in someone’s day or mood.
Number 3: Crazysauce
Crazysauce is a nickname that came from a teacher that I had in High school. Her name was Mrs. Deerhaugh. I had study hall at that time. I remember using my I pod shuffle while sitting at a desk near the back of the classroom. I would listen to my favorite tunes and start dancing my heart and soul out. One day Mrs, Deerhaugh said, “Hey Crazysauce!” I glanced back at her and asked her what she meant by that. She replied back to me saying, ” That means party in a can.” It also means that you love to dance and when you dance you just get into the rhythm and beat of the song!” Ever since that day this is one nickname that is still used to this day.
